Hello!
As you may have heard before there's this pesky virus going around. COVID-19. I'm struggling with what I should occupy my life within the next 3 to 4 weeks. At first it felt like a stress break (which was a complete luxury on my part), a creative development time. Even though it is only day one of this social distancing thing, I find myself already questioning what I should do with my endless hours. I've already committed to cooking more, knitting thigh high leg warmers, cleaning and sorting my life. Even though I've thought in depth about how to develop my knitting skills I've also spent this 24 hours contemplating life, the future and the people around me. In the day to day I have since reconnected with 3 old friends. I spent my morning talking and catching up with Alanna (Ireland) and Jasmin (Alaska) who I met in 2017. It was amazing remembering that I have friends around the word no matter what. They are there. And they are going through it just like I am. After a day of more groceries and knitting supplies I returned to the house, almost eager to go home and reconnected with Kaleb (Chicago), my college roommate and best friend.
I'm thinking of starting a blog to spread kindness and thoughts reaching out letting people know that we are facing this together no matter what. The human race is messed up, no doubt about that, but we are also beautiful. For every horrible story about hoarding toilet paper there is another story about people going out to serve and feed others. For every story about the oncoming storm, there is a story about parents thanking teachers for all that they do and realizing it is not as easy as it looks. I'm not working for 3 weeks but that doesn't mean I am going to stop sharing my love of dance. Times are tough but I urger you to not give up and to look to the sky for escape and appreciation.
